Apart from cabaye, why do we struggle to sign players of any real quality? Other teams around us during transfer windows always seem to do business and we are left out to the lions all the time. Very frustrating but I'm sure there are valid reasons, but I am not sure what they are

I agree I think maybe it's our wage structure look at teams like Sunderland there poor but still sign players like Adam Johnson, Defoe and W.B.A sign fletcher and Evans because they pay well. Everyone seems to strengthen as you say and we scrape the bottom of the barrel and take the scraps others don't want or end up with the like of wickham. We've been told to stop thinking like palace fans and believe by SP and AP, but bar cabaye who have we and will we get, let's try and sign some people batshuayi slimani whoever. Players from good European clubs not the championship ect.

Perhaps for some we are a bit of a gamble as we do not really have a history of being in the Premier League ? We are fairly new, promoted team and the league has been an old boys club for a large number of seasons. This issue is changing slowly. Obviously the longer we remain in the league and perform well the more draw we will be.

You say that but look at Watford signing players yes I know there connected by there owner and even Bournemouth they've signed Juan iturbe a 22yr old Argentina player from Roma who's had a bit a champions league experience and max gradel a ivory cost international and was in the French league team of the year last year.

I agree prestige of a club means something to players but surely were bigger than Bournemouth no disrespect. I really think football is all money now.

I thinks it's a few things.

The training ground
The stadium itself is not really a nice place to get to and the area around isn't great.
Money Palace appear to like working on bonuses with smaller week wages
Money on Palace side as well they don't want to pay out the fees to players and agents.

Another thing I think is being fixed is reputation with agents and other clubs a lot of bridges were burnt when Jordan was in charge I think Parish is doing a very good job of trying to fix this.

Last few thing we are not really a known name this again Parish is doing a great job of trying to change this but it all takes time we really need to win something.

AP appears to be very selective and at times he is not seeing what the rest of us are when in comes to areas that look weak so he thinks he has players that are great already when they are not.

How can you talk about quality players, then say Defoe, Johnson, Evans, Fletcher.......would you want palace to sign any of those. Yes Bournemouth and watford have spent, but wether the players they've bought are quality is yet to be seen....

Come on how can you say Defoe is not good he's always scored. As for Johnson he was playing well when they signed him. Yes he's not so great now but. And I'm sorry Evans is a good prem CB and fletcher is solid.

Defoe or wickham hmmmmm
Evans or hangeland hmmmm

Wonderful support as ever. I'll tell you what, if are players are the bottom of the barrel, just imagine where the club would be if we were getting the top of the barrel!

Set up your own scouting network mate, you've got this "how good a player is" thing sussed!

Batshuayi Slimani whoever! Hilarious.

So you want us to be signing Lewis Grabban for £8m? Just so we can say we singed someone?

Do any of you people actually think about what you're saying before you type?
