I was interested to read today that Alan Pardew said that he was fairly happy with his squad but it was Steve Parish that wanted to freshen up the squad

Perhaps SP is not so happy about the recent lack of goals, wins and points as AP is?

If we're going to offload some staff can we please give Campbell and Chamak their P45's?

We should keep hold of Gayle as he is a good player to introduce from the bench. Mutch should go but it looks like AP likes him and he did sign him.

Other than he hasn't, I believe, scored in last 17 appearances from bench

This is getting ridiculous! Chamakh was our best player last season but has been injured most of this one. He can still do a job, and will do once he regains full fitness. Mutch is a decent squad player and although Puncheon hasn't been firing on all cylinders so far this season he also will come good.

Dwight Gayle needs the right system, we don't play that system so he'll probably need to go to realise his potential, also we'll get a decent fee for him. Campbell will also do ok in the right team, maybe in the championship.

The wingers you mention to come in are all as inconsistent as the players we have, so no real improvement there. I don't know Kujovic so can't comment, but Remy would be great. It looks like Emenike has a few problems with his ownership, so not as good as Remy in my view.

Dunk isn't anywhere near good enough and never will be, silly suggestion, but Diame would be good, though we're unlikely to strengthen midfield this window. Too much change in a short time can be far worse than no change.

Puncheon I agree on but Mutch and Chamakh have to go.

Why? Doesn't make any sense to move them on, and anyway for either to leave we would need to get an offer for them first, you can't just cancel their contracts.

Could well be a case of Parish being bad cop and Pards being good cop. They both know we need a couple of extra bodies but if the manager comes out and says that he isn't happy with his lot and needs a few changes then what does that say to the squad that has busted their gut for him for a year? He said we needed a striker but that was so glaringly obvious it wouldn't upset the apple cart, if he came out and said we need a new midfielder and defender how would people like Chungy, Mutch and Kelly feel? I bet you would see a dip in their attitudes.

MC was no where near our best player last season, he missed 60% through injury, this season has again missed the first half and done precious little in the games he has played in.

Having a player that we get 5 decent games a year from isn't good enough. Guessing year 3 of a 4 year contract so maybe waving goodbye soon, can see no reason to give him a new one.

Alright I'll admit; Scott Dann was, but what I meant was that in going forward he was vital in holding the ball up to allow us to break as we were under the cosh for most games. He was also, along with Jimmy Mac and (sometimes) Puncheon, the best passer in last year's team.

I still feel that he can do a job in the final third linking with Cabaye. He played 20 games last year, he probably won't play that many this but, if fit, he could make the difference in tight matches.

Maybe not a new contract when the current one runs out, but he'll probably want to finish his career in France anyway.
