It's theirs to lose now and if they win it what an amazing achievement it would be. It will be the greatest achievement in modern day football, one which all didn't think could possibly happen. I hope they do it.

As for Vardy, he's a bit of a chav but he can catch pigeons and finish, with Mahrez pulling the strings they are formidable. They have been very lucky with injuries though.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Perhaps the big difference between Leicester and ourselves is that they brought in a proven top class manager in Ranieri and it is he who has driven them onwards and upwards

Raneiri was derided as a poor choice when appointed and his record is less then spectacular in other European leagues, i believe.

Pearson must be fuming. If he hadn't acted like such a massive dick, he'd probably still be their and they'd probably still be there or there about. since Christmas last year they've amassed a premier league winning points total.

He has managed some big clubs in Europe, off the top of my head the likes of Monaco,Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Roma, Valencia,Inter Milan, etc etc.I think I am right in saying that at each of his clubs (May be an exception) he has won more games than he has lost, but whilst he has got promotions and won cups, I don't think he has won the league with any of them. But a bad manager doesn't get to manage major clubs in Europe and of course he also managed Chelsea.

I agree, i'm just commenting on the mood at the time of his appointment.

I understand what you are saying. He had this "Tinkerman" reputation and pundits had Leicester for relegation when he was appointed ! If we had appointed him instead of Pardew perhaps HOL would have been in meltdown with cries that "CPFC2010" had taken leave of their senses ! I think when you look at his overall record he deserves more credit than what he gets - perhaps his persona hasn't helped in this respect.

The point that I was making is that Ranieri doesn't seem to get any of the credit for turning Leicester from relegation candidates into promotion contenders.

According to the media and forums etc when we were riding high earlier in the season it was all down to Pardew yet Leicester's success is apparently all down to Vardy

Yes I agree with you, in fact Ranieri never seems to get any credit for anything ! As I have mentioned, he has managed a host of big clubs and you don't get to manage them if you dont "Know your onions".

You mentioned Vardy, and his importance has been well documented but almost "Under the radar" has been Kante who has been very influential and he was a Ranieri signing at just £5.6 Mill.

The gap between top and mid table has closed and now its harder for the champions league teams to play weakened teams and win. Leicester have no pressure no cups to play and can go close if their injury luck holds out. It will be interesting what team Spurs put out in the cups as they must be in with a great chance of the title.

For the first time, Leicester have been listed as favourites for the title. I wonder if this will heap added pressure on the players ? A lot of the players will have got used to pressure from last season when they were in a relegation scrap and managed to pull through.

I wonder if any Leicester city fans took a cheeky punt on the 5000 to 1 to win the league at the start of the season....

I feel like Palace are just Leicester without the goals. In that we have a team of good players, very few that were considered World Class at the start of the season and we went on a big run of morale where we were in the top 5. If we had scored more goals during that period and kept the morale going, it could be us mugging everyone off at the top.

I guess this is a really obvious statement that could be applied to half the league now I read it back. However, part of me feels like in a parallel universe where only a couple of minor things went differently, we are at the top and Leicester are mid-table.

Don't take this post too literally and you might understand what I was banging on about!
