Only dangerous to themselves! Really, a very minor band. Like a circle with the edges rubbed out.

I prefer people who are actually dangerous, like Iggy was, or New York Dolls, or so many others. LA rock in the 80's booooring! Record company poodles.

Watched the documentry last night and as a GnR fan thought it was very insightful a lot of things I thought were Axls fault turned out to be the other way around or through being screwed by management (I thought he was on the brownstone and that's why he was late for gigs not slash and the others)
It was a shame when it all broke down and you can see Axls point when he laid bare about the abuse he suffered as a child and there was his bandmate playing guitar for a nonce.
I remember my dad telling me that he'd met them in a bar in L.A before they were famous so I guess around 85 and said they were really nice guys to talk too.

As for not dangerous enough I doubt the canadian and american police the nights there concerts turned into riots would agree with you.

Not sure how you are defining dangerous.

The programme itself was called "The Most Dangerous Band".

It's all about perception and to some I guess they would be deemed dangerous in the USA - just like the Sex Pistols were here in 1975.

I don't see them as dangerous personally. I think Slash was/is a reasonably gifted guitarist and songs like "Sweet Child Of Mine" and "November Rain" show off his talents quite well.

They are no Metallica, but a good Heavy Metal/Rock outfit I would say?

Once again GnR stealing from Motley Crue. Arguably a far inferior band, but anyone who's read 'The Dirt' would surely agree that they managed to be far more dangerous both to themselves and others (two dead, several infected with Hep, a couple of overdoses and drug abuse on a scale that makes you impressed they ever recorded anything).

I'd agree.

Bands have been boozing, doing drugs and generally behaving badly for a long time. The Sweet were pretty notorious and there weren't many more bonkers than Keith Moon. Led Zeppelin once flooded a a whole hotel floor with foam and naked women and if you read any of the KISS biographies, they are full of "rock star" behaviour.

Hats off goes to Mike Tyson though. Clearly not a rock star but would put pretty much all of them to shame with his exploits. His book is a real eye opener.

It's debateable which were more "Spinal Tap", both weren't about music, more about stupidity as a career. But no-one ever lost money by underestimating the gullibility of the public!

I thought it was a good watch. I can't believe the main debating point seems to be whether the documentary had an accurate title.

It got people watching, obviously. That was probably the point.

Optimistic as ever
