your assessment is on target. the right keeps losing social issues and the hayseeds just get nuttier and nuttier. and we gerrymander the congressional districts so you have to be a complete idealogue to get into the house of reps. everyone runs hard to the edges to out crazy the other and not give an inch. this is the crap candidates we're left with b/c you have to be on the nuttier side to win anything but then you can't govern anything at all. so nothing gets done.

doesn't matter who wins on the dem side - they'll get nothing done. if the repubs win, the party will further splinter with the extremist factions battling for power. key differentiator is they'll all be for another war somewhere. really doesn't matter where. and they, again, won't require a tax to pay for it. then they'll blame poor people for sucking up all the benefits and ruining our economy and will give more tax breaks to billionaires to "stimulate the economy."

Trump, in the speech I saw, when he won New Hampshire, hinted at as much. He said, very briefly, that he had billion dollar deals lined up, it's gonna be great.he'll sell yosemite to build water parks and put trumps hotel beside them.

I thought at the time, billion dollar deals for who? Him and his mates? I just can't see how any Trump "deals" will actually benefit "Joe". I just don't see him as an honest person, or at least as honest as I believe you need to be to run for any type of office.he actually knows nothing about the real economy. hotels are a small part of the economy overall. he knows nothing about what will move GDP. cheap service industry jobs aren't going to change the US.

Trump may be anti-establishment in terms of goverment but not in terms of corparate America and they are the ones that really run things.

In another part of Trumps speech he said something like, "Don't worry about Bernie, he wants to take our country away from us". Which "us" is he talking about? "us" is code word for stupid white people who want to go back to a wonderful time where segregation was prevalent, you could beat up gays as you saw fit, along with women, and you could swing a hammer for a job and make enough to not live in squalor. and you could drink and drive too. it was really great back then...to be white. and he'll make it great for you to beat your wife again! Us as in the country or us as in the stupidly rich who are thriving in the USA right now and that money is quite obviously not "trickling down to "Joe".

Having listened to the Bernie speech moments before, he was talking a lot about the inequality between the rich and the poor. Some truly staggering figures.been going on closer to 50 years now. nothing going to stop it from what i can see.

I do think if Sauders does win (he has to get the nomination first), he will not be able to do half of what he would be elected to do as the sheer rage from the Republicans will try to stop him at every turn, much as they have with Obama, who has been like a wet blanket of a president, imo.

So much was expected and little delivered from Obama. I don't see it as he was entirely rubbish, I just think that all the things he was elected to do were either watered down or stopped completely by the opposition. he tried to be a uniter in a divided country when he took office. thought he could get repubs to be serious and get things done. he read that all wrong - they were going to screw him at every turn. then he lost control fo congress and now can't do anything. he had a bad flaw of arrogance or stupidity in the beginning. since, just a guy trying to chip away at a mountain with a small hammer.Obama's foreign policy has also been virtually non-existant but maybe that was needed after Iraq and Afganistan.

I think the USA will become more and more divided, and it's international influence will decline as a result.meh - we tend to do well in spite of our #hite politicians throughout history but there is a toll on human suffering from the general population. if they don't want to stand up and do something about it, it's on them/us.

It's not just the States, with the divide between rich and poor increasing worldwide, we are all in for some extremely challenging times over the next few decades.yep - world issue. US won't solve it. dirty banks everywhere. we can split ours up but will stop nothing (althought i'd be happy if they still did. #unts.

Ultimately Saunders actually stand for something, Trump is really a return to Bush, figure head politics and corporate exploitation of the working class. But they'll clamp down on the Mexicans, who aren't the problem.
