I live in the South West and after my Brother having his first child my family and I decided to come down and visit the newst edition to the family.

I chose the South Croydon Travel Lodge, not becuase it was the cheapest family room (as it wasnt) but because of the location being fairley near to where my brother lived.

On arrival we had to wait 20 mins for the receptionist to arrive, despite many attempts by myself and another couple to find her.

She then accused me of trying to smuggle a third child into the room ? Yes I had three children with me, however My eldest was staying with her Nana, after I explained this, the rude bitch stated and I quote "well if I see her about I will charge you for her" I am a 44 year old sgt in the Army, not some randy 19 year old trying to smuggle his chavey bint into a room !!

On arrival into the room it reaked of smoke and stale beer, there was ( I sh1t you not) a plastic bag elastically banded to the smoke detector making it pointless, there was dried piss all over the back of the toilet, the towels were stained with God only knows what, and the floor and crisps trodden in it by the window, oh and there was Ash in the shower.

Now I'm no snob, but after having coughed up £80 quid for a family room, with no extra's like breakfast of free wi-fi, I would of thought the minimum standard would have been clean !!

I urge you not to use this cesspit of a hotel unless it is for the only purpose which it is fit, a drunken leg over at 3am on a friday night.

Bloody disgusting - but can't pretend to be too surprised. Travel Lodge and Croydon - says it all!

That's it, looks vile in every way. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

You'd have been better off at the Wapses Lodge one or better still in the Premier Inn near East Croydon.

Optimistic as ever

I stayed in a Premier Inn just outside Arundel recently.
Place was very clean & staff pleasant.
Only thing let it down was the third of a pint of san Miguel I had in the bar, made me pig ill that night.
I'd already got a big glug into me before the rotten pond water smell became apparent.
Boy did my bowels open later.

Kids,tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

i love this travelodge. Since the referb i have stayed here pretty much every week for between 1-4 nights at a time and i will continue to keep coming back. I am looking to stay in the Travelodge London Crystal Palace Hotel, Well it's actually in Penge. But I was surprised to read this.

Families will find plenty to do with Chessington World of Adventures and the famous ship The Cutty Sark providing fun days out, while the nearby 02 Arena is perfect for catching various shows.[/i
