Well we're about to see yet another u-turn from Osborne; which will leave an even bigger hole in his plans to balance the budget. Even though he's so obviously a useless chancellor, he's supposed to be a shrewd political operator, a claim that's becoming more laughable each time he opens his mouth. He's now got next to zero chance of becoming PM when Dave buggers off, even though the referendum result will go his way rather then Boris'; Bojo has to be the least worst of the two contenders.

I don't think he's a useless Chancellor compared to anyone else available on the opposition benches, but he's definitely flawed and the Tory majority has gone to his head (and Cameron's). Luckily there are still some conservatives with morals and a sense of fair play and a caring nature to bring these two to task and rein in their desire to reward the rich and fcuk over the poor and disabled. Cameron is a joke now... not only did he let himself and the country down with his weak bargaining position on EU reforms, but to let the EU force us into adding VAT to tampons and then meekly plead with them to allow us to remove it (the tax not the tampon!) is just pathetic. Cameron - grow some balls man, go back to your original position as an EU sceptic and join the campaign to leave this bureaucratic wasteful federal bullying super state and make Great Britain GREAT again. Also stop pandering to the SNP... they represent at most 7% of the population - tell them to jog on. Osborne - stop fcuking about with taxes and benefits designed to reward your toff mates at the expense of the poor and disabled whilst trumpeting "We're all in it together!" Farage/Fox/Gove/Duncan Smith etc - rise up join forces and fill this vacuum... Labour are as much use as balls on the Pope with Corbyn leading them and not capable of mounting a challenge. We cannot have a choice of just Cameron/Osborne v Corbyn/McDonell. For a start there's only going to be one winner in that contest. What is sad is that we've allowed this to happen under our noses.....

A budget with the EU in mind, pure and simple. And the real shame is enough people are going to fall for this BS. More and more I realise why I did want a Tory govt in 2010 but more diluted and not a majority. But then the alternative is Corbyn and McDonnell more than capable of ruining the country for 10 years. Politicians with no concept of people or the population's requirements and if they do, they're economic suicide.

You have the Tories who are just striving to live up to the nasty party tag at the moment, while shouting "la la la I'm not listening" at anyone who suggests they may want to get some more of the ridiculously rich to put their hands in their pockets as well, and Labour are just unelectable. There's a massive hole at the moment just waiting to be filled by a movement that cares for the vulnerable in society, doesn't suck up to big business, AND isn't going to run the economy into the ground with student union economics. I don't know if UKIP are it (sadly they have some very unpleasant followers in their ranks with questionable motives, and the EU is largely a sideshow), but there must be something. Hoof for PM, perhaps?

Said it in a separate thread a few weeks ago. I voted Tory and am a member and I think Osborne and Cameron have completely lost the plot. The surprise majority has gone to their head.

How do you not look like you're sucking up to big business without being anti-business? The Tories have raised the living wage (presumably considered to help the working man) but have balanced it with a cut in corporation tax. If they hadn't done that, companies would cut jobs. Simple as that. How do you care for everyone in society through the benefits system without it being unaffordable? It's impossible. The Tories to their credit have tried to cut the welfare bill and shed some of the ridiculous waste in the state, and I think that's a good thing. But all the left will do is say that any cut to the state is evil, which it isn't. I don't believe that the Tories are any more inherently evil than the other parties, they're just anti big welfare and big state, which I think is the position of the majority of the country. Help the most needy, everyone else should jolly well work for whatever they get.
