I saw some guys doing this when I was over there. Not my thing but they looked like they were having a riot

Gather round the town square/station and sexually assault everyone in sight?

Sorry, that's Cologne.

Optimistic as ever

Learn German.

That's different even for a sober Englishman.

Having recently seen the Berlin based comedy film Christiane F, I'm led to believe that the Berlin Zoologischer Garten Station (Bahnhof Zoo) is a good source for heroin & rent boys

Read the book as a teenager, Box von Fröschen doesn't even start to describe her.

You could always burn down the Reichstag.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

The book's been on my wishlist for ages - but I've a stack of unread books at home to plough through so it'll have to wait.

If the OP wants a serious answer I would suggest a pub crawl. Drinking in Germany is excellent - and if you stick to beer, you'll notice the distinct lack of hangovers in comparison. I think they get the pure stuff and we get lumbered with the chemical muck.

Only been to Berlin briefly (loved it though) so would struggle to recommend anywhere specific. But if you're looking for a non boozy activity and you like Nazi sh1t then I can recommend the Topography of Terror. It's the only real reference you can still find in Berlin of the 3rd reich. It's in the unearthed Gestapo prison cells on the now non existant road called Prinz Albrecht Strasse (left to rot after WW2) and it's got a remaining section of 'the wall' running alongside it.

That's very good and also very sad. I took my son there. The thing that struck me was how random the wall was with buildings on either side of the street just feet apart.

Checkpoint Charlie was disappointing, Reichstag was good, the Brandenburg Gate impressive and the Currywurst delicious.

Olympic Stadium is worth a visit too
