But the Met are a law unto themselves so quite often you won't get one and just have to shovel a sandwich down your gob in between racing to calls.

If you moan, complain or kick up a fuss you will basically be outcast by senior management and moved somewhere you don't want to go.... Happy days eh??

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Life is too short not to do lunch, an hour, hour and a half...depends how long it takes to drink a couple of pints, how nice the weather is, and ..oh yeah how long it takes to have another couple...

In the 70's at L&G's head office in Kingswood, Surrey we never used to do any work on a Friday afternoon... we would find a local country pub, get hammered and the only reason we went back to work was the fact that their subsidised bar opened at 5pm.

We used to say to our boss... Just nipping out for a swift half.... (and about 5 long pints - under our breath). He didn't mind he was banging one of the little cuties in the office.
