It was very interesting to watch the "Angelic Liverpool Fans" in the market square at Basel over the last few days.

The club were officially allocated 9000 tickets for the final and yet estimates of up to 30,000 had arrived in Basel. I assume this additional 21,000 fans had secured tickets for the match themselves as Liverpool fans have been proven in a court of law NOT to to turn up to big fixtures without tickets and cause mayhem.

The pictures I saw on TV was them with loads of cans in the square.... I can only presume this was diet coke, fanta and sprite, as again, it has been proven in a court of law that Liverpool fans DON'T drink alcohol before big fixtures.

Justice for the 96

Horrible post. Hillsborough was a tragedy and resonates with any football fan who goes to a match.

If Palace make Europe then I expect away games will be full of fans without tickets. You on the other hand will be living your life on here.

Yes I will, because I have Parkinson's disease.

And whilst we are predicting the future, I'll bet Liverpool fans will still be causing mayhem at major football events here or in Europe but people like you will still be making excuses for them.

'Liverpool fans' is a category which probably a couple of hundred million people worldwide - considering the Hillsborough incident took place the best part of 30 years ago, is it not logical to assume that those in Basel were a completely unrelated set of people, other than supporting the same football club of course.

It's a bizarre assumption to make that because some Liverpool fans traveled to Basel in 2016 without match tickets, the same must be true in Sheffield in 1989.

Regarding Hillsborough, they were found to be not at fault in a court of law, where evidence was presented that you or I have never heard/seen - how exactly can your conclusion be more factual than theirs?

I'm happy to explain why my conclusion is at odds with the inquiry's conclusions.....

I have a friend who is a member of the LFC Supporter's club of Bristol and I've known him since I moved here in 1982.

That club runs two coaches every week to home and away games and often there is a spare ticket or two going begging. My friend used to offer them to me up till around 2 years ago when I had my diagnosis of Parkinsons and I couldn't manage 5 hours on a coach anymore.

Nevertheless I have witnessed their fans behaviour for a period of over 30 years.

I have seen many of their fans absolutely "bladdered" - their term for someone almost concussed by alcohol and causing mayhem being sick at the ground, on the coach, falling into people's front gardens as they try to walk!

I've seen a wild west style riot between Liverpool fans and Leeds at the Cabbage Hall pub near the ground. Glasses, Bottles, Chairs thrown.

I went one Sunday to watch them play Birmingham City away and saw a Liverpoool fan throw a glass bottle into the next enclosure which hit a woman full in the face and cut her. No one was certain who the culprit was but no one was prepared to identify him either.... snitches get stitches mentality.

I've also had occasions where Liverpool fans have tried to barge me through the turnstile as I presented my ticket for entry to the match.

I also went to Anfield for the Manure game and watched countless fans doing airplane impressions and singing "Who's that lying on the runway" and "Always look on the runway for Ice" songs for pretty much the whole 90 minutes of play.

If these were one off incidents I would ignore them as high spirits maybe, but this behaviour has been constant and consistently awful throughout the 30 years I regularly traveled to their games.

I am not making any of this up, I have seen it all with my own eyes.

The problem for some is that if they were to have a bit of empathy and accept the actual final evidence - scientific and all - they would have to show humility as well as eat a wee bit of humble pie after all these years promoting the lies and that ain't going to happen. Not when it's about kids and women and men who happen to have had a scouse accent when they died. That's the really important bit eh Hoof? They were scousers.

I worked with a Liverpool fan and went to SP with him (I know!!) this was before Hillsborough. He took great delight in saying he had never seen a kick off.Courts of Law dont always get it "spot on". Mistakes/faults on both sides I feel

I was aware of that story and yes it is heartwarming.

I'm not denying that despite what I've personally witnessed the overwhelming majority of Liverpool fans are good, decent honest individuals...

Certainly the 96 victims were the type to arrive early get their place on the terrace, read the matchday programme, drink tea etc.

What happened to them saddened my heart.

I just happen to also think that we should not completely forget that some fans that day let those 96 victims down just as much as the police.

The greatest legacy from this tragedy is that grounds are now safer to support your team.

Lets hope EVERY Palace fan stays safe today and gets home with a smile on their face!
