Alan Lee arrived from Ispwich Town just before the August 2008 transfer window shut.
The Irish target man began his career as a trainee with Aston Villa but did not play for the Midlands club and had loan stints with Torquay and Port Vale. A permanent switch to Burnley came in 1999 and he joined Rotherham a year later where he made 111 appearances and scored 37 goals.
Cardiff snapped him up for £850,000 in 2003 and he spent three years at Ninian Park before sealing a move to Ipswich where he netted 31 goals in 103 games.
When the Republic of Ireland international came to Palace, a hamstring injury meant he hardly featured in the first half of the 2008/09 campaign and he went on loan to Norwich in March stating he would like to make the move full time.
Although Lee was not prolific on his return to Palace, he weighed in with some important goals.
