Chris Hambling

Age: 32

Supported Palace Since: 1990 FA Cup Semi-Final

Favourite Palace Player of all time: Ian Wright

Favourite Current Palace Player: Wilfried Zaha

Academy/Youngster Tip for the Top: Ryan Inniss (but so many to choose from)

Best Palace Moment Experienced: Should have been survival at Hillsborough or Play off win vs West Ham, but missed out on tickets for both so has to be 3-1 win at the Amex. Forever Palace will be the first league winners at our fierce rivals' new ground and I have never celebrated goals so emphatically or watched a stadium empty so satisfyingly quick. The satisfaction of the win being driven on by great performances from Williams and Zaha made it all the more magical.

Worst Palace Moment Experienced: Fortunately I didn't go, but even following the scores when we were relegated from our last spell in the Premier League just hurt so much. So many moments where we should have been safe and when Dougie scored that goal against the Clowns, it should have been the moment where he saved as again – but we all know what happened next. It did, however, make it sweet when we claimed that awful "Amarillio" song for ourselves as Charlton dropped through the leagues.

Worst Palace Player Seen Live: Has to be Gareth Taylor. To this day I have no idea what that was all about. Although weirdly he looked half decent as his career came to a close at Forest. We've probably had less able players, but the whole package for Taylor magnifies his ineptitude.

Why Palace?: Short version of a long story is that even though I was football-mad from the age of 5 (obsessively reading "Match" magazine – I can still remember the excitement of the first player I saw get 10 out of 10 – Gateshead's Charlie Butler) I never picked "my" team. I sat down to watch a certain FA Cup Semi-Final and after my Dad asked who I wanted to win, I pointed out that everyone at school supported Liverpool and, ever the non-conformist, I went for Palace. That game being what it was, I was obviously hooked on Palace for life.

How did you get into HOL Radio?: I saw the idea suggested on the site by Producer Mikee and, after a while, thought I might fancy a go at being a "guest voice" on the first show. On the Monday morning of the first broadcast, I got a text from Mikee telling me the main host has dropped out and asking if I would step up. I didn't like the idea of the launch of the show falling at the first hurdle so thought I would give it a go and see how it went – and being a regular radio and podcast listener I guess in my head I had an idea of what was needed. First show was nervy but it was an enjoyable experience (had the first show felt like show 2 I would never have done it again! ). We've come a long way since then though – and I can't listen to those early shows at all!

HOL Username: Hambo

Anything else?: Last season I managed to attend every single Palace game, including pre-season, league and cup. I am substantially poorer and fatter as a result. I am a massive comedy fan and my favourite place I have visited is New York.

Ben Nagle

Age: 19

Supported Palace Since: Womb

Favourite Palace Player of all time: Being of the younger generation, I'd say Julian Speroni. The banner last year was special, and seeing Jules get emotional shows what the club means to him.

Favourite Current Palace Player: Paddy McCarthy - captain fantastic, and just signed a new 3 year deal. When I get a dog, i'm going to name him after Paddy!

Academy/Youngster Tip for the Top: Got to be Reise Allassani, will be hot property in a few years or so. One to watch.

Best Palace Moment Experienced: Difficult to choose between Hillsborough, and Cardiff in 2004. I think for what it meant for the club, it has to be Hillsborough. It's the closest i've ever been to tears watching Palace, and if i'm honest one or two might have trickled out. Had we not won, we may not have got to this point!

Worst Palace Moment Experienced: Can I say Hillsborough for this too? Haha Cardiff in the Carling Cup semi final was awful, but worst overall was probably the protest at Lloyds.. not thinking we'd come out of the other side. It rained all day, and there were rumours all day that we'd been liquidated. At one point, I just sat on the kerb head in hands and feared for the worst. No need to expand on the outcome - it turned into one of the best!

Worst Palace Player Seen Live: Cor, good question. I hesitate to say Calvin Andrew, because he gave his all.. but he was awful. Shefki Kuqi was pretty bad too. Purely for the bellyflop celebration, i'm going to say him!

Why Palace?: The rollercoaster ride, you never know what's going to happen. And the supporters, best in the country!

How did you get into HOL Radio?: Saw Mikee advertise that a radio show was in the pipeline, and I got involved. Was a presenter on the first show, and still here now.

Age: 43 (forty three)

Supported Palace Since: 1974

Favourite Palace Player of all time: Ian Wright

Favourite Current Palace Player: Wilf

Academy/Youngster Tip for the Top: Wilf

Best Palace Moment Experienced: 1) playing on the hallowed turf in the 6 a side tourney. 2)beating Burnley in 79 to win promotion. (my dad paid £35 a seat for 2 seats 5 mins b4 kick off!- a lot back then...)

Worst Palace Moment Experienced: Being relegated by an Ian Wright goal vs Arsenal. Saw lots of people cry at Highbury that day.

Worst Palace Player Seen Live: Trevor Aylott

Why Palace?: Family..My granddad was a palace fan. Lived in Clock House. I WAS BORN IN Beckenham so local team.

How did you get into HOL Radio?: I was approached furtively.

HOL Username: nickgusset

Anything else?: I like 1 sugar in tea. If I drink more than 2 pints I'm really sick, however I'm alright if I move onto shorts or cocktails after 2 pints.

Favourite Current Palace Player: Jon Williams

Academy/Youngster Tip for the Top: Bayan Fenwick / Quade Taylor / Kwesi Appiah

Best Palace Moment Experienced: 1997 Play-off final at Wembley v Sheff Utd

Worst Palace Moment Experienced: Relegation from Prem after 2-2 draw at Charlton

Worst Palace Player Seen Live: Jonathan Obika

Why Palace?: Father took me to Selhurst Park when I was 9 yrs old

How did you get into HOL Radio?: Asked on the off chance if I could help out & it went on from there

HOL Username: prideofsouthlondon

Twitter: @BeerFootyBirds

Steve Brown

Age: 26

Supported Palace Since: Watching us lose to Man Utd 3-0 in the 97/98 Premiership Season

Favourite Palace Player of all time: Difficult one, definitely between AJ, Morrison and Michael Hughes…you know, some bloke saw him on holiday in Dubai and he was awfully rude!

Favourite Current Palace Player: Currently Moxey, soon to be Joniesta I think.

Academy/Youngster Tip for the Top: We've got so many absolutely phenomenal kids coming through. I'm going to say either Ryan Innis or Kyle da Silva (its too boring and predictable to say Wilf or Joniesta)

Best Palace Moment Experienced: Probably when the hot blonde girl with the big tits stuck her tongue down my throat at full time at Hillsborough

Worst Palace Moment Experienced: Probably when the ugly runtish skinhead next to the hot blonde girl stuck his tongue down my throat...

Worst Palace Player Seen Live: We've had so many of those as well…Fraser Digby has to be up there, Julian Gray for his laziness (despite being incredibly skilful) has to be up there too.

Why Palace?: You don't choose your club, your club chooses you. I was supporting Man Utd before Palace lost 3-0 to them!

HOL Username: Kingvagabond

Twitter: @KingvagabondHOL

John Burgess

Age: 26

Supported Palace Since: 1990 age 4

Favourite Palace Player of all time: Dougie Freedman. Although special mention to AJ and John Salako.

Favourite Current Palace Player: Wilfried Zaha

Academy/Youngster Tip for the Top: Reise Allassani

Best Palace Moment Experienced: Staying up at Sheffield Wednesday

Worst Palace Moment Experienced: The last 10 minutes at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday.

Worst Palace Player Seen Live: there have been a few. Too many in fact. But I can't look far past Andy Dorman right now.

Why Palace?: I fell in love with the name as a child. The idea of them playing in an actual crystal palace was taken too literally by a 4 year old JB. Selhurst Park didn't quite match up to the image in my head.

Bios – Regular Contributors

Furhad Zaidi: "Furry", as he refuses to be known, was part of the original presenting lineup (with Chris and Ben).

He still makes the occasional appearance when his work with the CPFC Supporters Trust and actual job permits.

Furry can often be found in a state of delirium at club events due to his ability to get massively over-excited about anything Palace related.

He knows a lot about a lot. He also helps moderate Holmesdale.net as "passdribbleshoot" or "PDS" for short.

Matt Packham: "Packs" was the first listener to turn presenter and can always be relied upon to deliver a well-timed insult or rant about a player.

These days Packs, a talented young cricketer playing for Reigate Priory, tends to be restricted to sporadic appearances but can usually be found, drunk, accompanying Chris to away games.

If you hear someone shouting in the background of a recording, or showing his arse on camera, it will be Packs. He can be found on Holmesdale.net under the ID "packs11" where we believe the 11 may stand for his mental age or his IQ. Perhaps both.

Ross Phillips: British-born Aussie furball Ross first contributed to HOL Radio with popular segment "5 Minutes Down Under" which he hosted with Ryan "Aussie Palace".

Listeners loved their take on events from the other side of the world and enjoyed the fact the "5 minutes" would always be at least twice that.

On his return to the UK he joined the team at the Selhurst 6-a-side tournament for the post match recording (and made an appearance for HOL Radio B) and was co-commentator as HOL Radio covered the pre-season game vs Cray Wanderers. Ross can be found on HOL under the username "Palace_Guard"

HOL radio would also like to thank Nathan Symonds and Chris Allen for their respective contributions to the show in previous episodes.
