Johnson forced Estonia international Mart Poom into the first save of the day on 27 minutes before opposite number Cedric Berthelin denied Kyle.

Gary Breen then headed Sean Thornton's corner over the bar and Thomas Butler fired a shot wide afterwards.

Kyle scored the opening goal on 46 minutes and five minutes later, Berthelin produced a top save to deny Thornton.

Neil Shipperley then went close for the Eagles, heading Danny Butterfield's cross wide.

Substitute Ben Watson nearly scored the equaliser but Poom made a good stop eight minutes from the end.

Johnson thought he had given the Londoners a point in the 89th minute but a penalty for handball in the box was given in injury-time and Stewart put it away.
