Ecuador international striker Ivan Kaviedes is poised to join Crystal Palace this week, according to sources in Ecuador.
Kaviedes had been on trial at Palace for the past two weeks and the Eagles are believed to have already agreed a deal with his club Barcelona de Guayaquil, in Ecuador.
The 26-year-old could make his debut in Palace's Premiership game at home to Everton this Saturday.
"He got 30 or 40 goals for Barcelona in Ecuador last year so he's not available on a free. He's a very talented boy," said Palace boss Iain Dowie.
Commenting on the oppotunity that Dowie has given him, Kaviedes told skysports.com: "I am delighted to be getting a chance to play in England.
"I am very happy it is with Crystal Palace."
