Andrew Johnson has been put on standby for England's World Cup squad.
Johnson who has scored 17 goals for Palace this season has been named in Sven-Goran Eriksson's standby list for the final 23-man squad which will travel to Germany in June.
Other players on standby include Tottenham's Defoe, and West Ham's Reo-Coker.
With both Rooney and Owen currently struggling for fitness there could well be a place for Palace's star striker.
The full 23-man squad is as follows: -
