Iain Dowie could be on the verge of quitting Palace after falling out with Simon Jordan.
Dowie had a bust-up with Jordan over his future at Selhurst Park, according to striker Clinton Morrison.
The Eagles boss is believed to be keen to talk to Charlton about replacing Alan Curbishley.
A press conference will be held on Monday at 4pm and Morrison's revelations will only increase speculation that Dowie is ready to leave the club he joined in 2003.
Morrison said: "Somebody from a high authority told me that he had had a bit of barney with the chairman.
"Hopefully, with whatever has happened between Iain Dowie and the chairman, it can be sorted.
"It would be so disappointing if the manager who brought me in moves on, particularly as it would mean another change, and Palace have a tendency to change their manager."
