James Scowcroft is having a medical at Palace today ahead of a £500,000 move from Coventry City.
Scowcroft, 29, will put pen to paper on a three year deal, after the medical is complete and will leave Coventry only a year after he joined them from Leicester City.
The former Ipswich Town trainee made 44 appearances for Coventry but only found the net 3 times.
Sky Blues boss Micky Adams is disappointed with Scowcroft's decision but see it as a good deal for the Midlands club.
"He's been offered more money and feels it's something he wants to pursue,"
"He's got two years left on a deal here but I think half a million, when I bought him in for nothing, is a fantastic deal for us.
"But I'm disappointed. I've had him at two clubs now and he's done a fantastic job for me.
"While he may not particularly be a fans favourite, if you ask his team-mates everybody respects the job that he tried to do for the club."
Peter Taylor see Scowcroft as an ideal replacement for Wayne Andrews, who ironically left Palace for Coventry City in June.
