Reserves crash at Brighton

September 10 2008

Crystal Palace reserves fell to a 3-0 defeat at arch rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.

Albion drew first blood moments before the half-time whistle as Sheffield United trialist Nicky Law crossed for Jonny Dixon to slot past David Wilkinson.

Dan Royce then scored for the hosts after 65 minutes, taking Dixon's cross down with style before curling a shot into the far corner.

Brighton keeper John Sullivan was called into action with a smart double save to keep out Eagles sub Billy Bingham's effort, then Shefki Kuqi's shot.

Then Steve Cook wrapped up the scoring with the third goal of the night, nodding home Tom Fraser's corner.

Palace: Wilkinson, Abnett, Adelakun, Ertl, Edwards, Dalhouse, Kamara, Comley, Kuqi, Griffit, Djilali.
