Team news

On loan defender Claude Davis will sit the game out as he is ineligible to play against parent club Derby, which means Matt Lawrence or Jose Fonte will start at centre back. Davis' season is over anyway as the FA banned him for three matches after elbowing Cardiff's Roger Johnson in the throat last week.

Shaun Derry is out for the season due to his shoulder operation. John Oster (neck) and Neil Danns (groin) are doubtful. Paul Ifill and Sean Scannell are sidelined so youngster James Comley could come in.

Jay McEveley is on the Derby treatment table after breaking a bone in his foot. Paul Green, Jordan Stewart, Miles Addison and Steve Davies are all missing, but centre-half Lewin Nyatanga should play a part.

Quotes

Nigel Clough

"Four games to go and one win or two draws should [keep us up]. It's not a bad position to be in. But until you get over that line there will always be an element of nerves involved. Our two home games give us the best chance, but if we can get a result at Palace it will make those last three games somewhat easier."
