Betting: Burnley v Palace

March 9 2012

Burnley is one of those towns you’d never visit unless it was for a long-lost relative or to watch the Clarets in action, writes Jamie Hinks.

The latter befalls South London’s highest flying side this weekend and betting-wise it ain’t lookin’ good. In the past seven seasons that there’s been two fixtures between there’s been at least one draw.

Bad news for travelling fans is the home game ended in a 2-0 win to Palace and it points to a stalemate. With that in mind we’re plumping for a 0-0 (17/2 at StanJames) or 1-1 (6-1 at William Hill).

Scoring-wise the best bet is Harlow’s free-kick sensation Darren Ambrose – 15/4 to score at anytime with various books. Chris Martin is also worth a punt at 10/3 to net at some point in the 90 with Totesport.

If you don’t mind betting against Palace, Jay Rodriguez to score first with Bet Fred at 5/1 or anytime with StanJames at 15/8 are the best bets.

You’d do well taking on board the tips. Ambrose’s early strike on Tuesday could have made you some serious dough!
