Eagles back to winning ways

July 28 2012

Crystal Palace got back to winning ways in their latest pre-season fixture, winning 2-0 against Aldershot Town.

Dougie Freedman fielded a much stronger Palace line-up, than against Margate - which included new signing Aaron Wilbraham, Kagisho Dikgacoi and trialist Jose Baxter.

Palace took the lead after 38 minutes through a stunning volley from Stuart O'Keefe.

A Palace corner resulted in a clearance from Aldershot, but the ball fell nicely for the former Southend United player, and his volley soared into the net from outside the box.

Palace made a number of substitutions in the second half, including Glenn Murray and Wilfried Zaha.

The pair were involved when the Eagles extended their lead.

Murray controlled the ball and back heeled it to Zaha who ran into the box and poked the ball home past the Shots' keeper.

Palace: Price, Ward (Diaz 71), Moxey (Ramage 71), Martin (Wynter 71), McCarthy (Wright 71), O'Keefe (Murray 59), Baxter, Dikgacoi (Parsons 46), Garvan (Zaha 71), Wilbraham (Jedinak 59), Easter (Fenwick 59)

Subs Not Used: Fitzsimons
