Crystal Palace played out a 1-1 friendly draw away to Fulham.
Defender Pape Souare spared Palace's blushes by heading home a second-half equaliser against the Championship side - his first goal for the club.
Manager Alan Pardew picked a strong Eagles line-up and it was perhaps an indication of the XI he will select for the first game of the season next Saturday at Norwich.
But at Craven Cottage, his side conceded after only six minutes when Ross McCormack teed up winger Ben Pringle to fire past Wayne Hennessey.
Jordon Mutch, Wilfried Zaha and Joe Ledley entered the field after the interval and the substitutions seemed to have an impact as Palace levelled on 49 minutes.
Whites keeper Andy Lonergan put James McArthur's fine effort out for a corner. The resulting flag kick was flicked on by a Fulham defender and Souare nodded in at the far post.
Palace looked the more likely to find a winner as Lonergan denied sub Dwight Gayle but the game ended all square.
Palace: Hennessey, Ward (Kelly 75), Dann, Delaney (Hangeland 57), Souare, Jedinak (Ledley 46), McArthur (Campbell 75), Puncheon, Cabaye (Mutch 46), Lee (Zaha 46), Murray (Gayle 75).
Not used: McCarthy.
