But the worst types of patriots are the people who voluntarily cross an ocean and go to an entirely different continent yet still profess how proud they are to be English when they are nothing of the sort and don't want to come back , don't you think? Me? Quite happy to visit the rainy mothercountry a few times a year but have the pleasant climate of the SW the rest of e time. Have to be very careful how I answer that one. The English Channel is not an ocean and Macedonia is on the same continent, but I dont feel a 'bad' patriot. I am still very pro British (not just English, honest). So I am sure others who have travelled further afield can claim the same. Being away also gives you a different prespective on patriotism and Britishness, as well as seeing how we are viewed by others. I travelled 1000 miles to find a better job and, 18 years later, I dont regret it!
