Aww poor snowflake, have the FA gone hard on you for being a controversial footballer. Or is it because you are a repeat offender in football.

Two convictions for assault, one on a teamate, three violent conduct offences on the pitch, stubbing a cigar out in a kid players eye. A spell in prison and a suspended sentence.

Maybe that's why they 'cracked down'. Oh yeah and it seems you did actually bet on your own team to lose - Which is basically match fixing even if you don't play you c**t, you're in a position to influence others.

This is exactly it in a nutshell. The reason he got a longer punishment is because he has previous. Maybe he put a bet on getting a shorter ban!

That's what I was going to post, but I was worried no one would remember the legend that was Joey Deacon.

Suspect we now have weeks / months of him with his little sad face on the front of various newspapers and magazines talking about his gambling addiction and how hard his life is. A footballer with downtime sits on his arse flicking through t.v. channels. How about he spends some time with his kid or does something charitable for the benefit of other people. Just had a gander at his website. Posts about the royal family. Hes a footballer ffs but he insists on putting his opinions on svery subject out there as loudly as possible. Expect to see and hear alot more of him everywhere in the coming weeks.

C'mon Dyche you must know players, coaches and managers betting on their own sport is the original and unforgivable sin. You're lucky you aren't over here. Pete Rose and the Black Sox 8 were banned for life.

Over here, where the only legal "sports books" can exist in Nevada, we have a nudge nudge wink wink attitude for everyone except athlete, who must be purer that the newly driven snow. Even legally betting on the ponies is frowned upon. When two of our more famous baseball players agreed to be greeters at an Atlantic City casino back in the 1970s, they were suspended from having any contact with Major League Baseball or any of the franchises. These guys were Hall of Famers.

Joey Barton seems to be just like the player Ray mentioned in his original tweet. I'm willing to bet the farm he will end up with tax troubles as well, just like Pete Rose.

Actually joey Barton has said before that all of his friends and family know him as joe or Joseph. He found it amusing that the media dubbed him joey

Everywhere you access football on TV or in the papers, they are betting companies throwing adverts and offers at you. And all they have to do to exprees their 'concern' about people getting in too deep with betting is to post a little disclaimer ; 'When the fun stops, stop'. On yeah. Try telling that to an alcoholic or a heroin addict. I'm sure it will work!

A Joey is also a name for a young Kangaroo.

well, it will not be a kangaroo Court that puts Barton into a cell next to Ryan Giggs.

Barton seems to have gone from attacking young men, to giving a woman head wounds. What a classy guy !

That's a bit unfair he's just a young lad who made a mistake err no wait that's when he was at City. 38yo man isn't likely to change his personality if true I hope he gets gaol time.

Joey Barton, manager of the Bristol Rovers football team, has been charged with assault by beating after a woman received a head injury, police have said.

It is just inevitable that a Barton moves on from bashing one person to another.

Was amazed to read Bristol Rovers hired this thug as manager.

Must be severely damaging their reputation.

He could be sponsored by the Crown Prosecution Service at this rate. What a tool.
