Human like robots the greatest threat:

- To Women is a sex bot that cooks and cleans as well.

- To Men is a good looking robot that doesn't go bald or develop a paunch listens to his wife and wants to go shopping and talk about feelings.

I think I have managed to offend everyone, Merry Christmas folks.

Not me Badger. I'm not bald.

It's in their interest to be.

People are born with their general IQs set to a degree. While they are significantly more useful and needed in society the guy with the 130 IQ lucked out just as much as the 85 IQ didn't.

Life isn't and has never been about fairness.

However, matching the hardest jobs to the brightest (it's not happening in some modern spheres) is a fundamental to building civilisations. The reality is that a society that only values 130 IQs isn't going to survive....and probably doesn't deserve to.

There will be a growth in online and automated teaching and learning. Robots will ultimately be cheaper than human equivalents as they don't go sick, need holidays, pay rises or hugely expensive superannuation schemes.

Not saying it will happen in the very short term, but we're not over the financial crisis yet but cuts have been rejected for now. The next crisis we have will be all the worse because this one hasn't been fixed and there will be huge pressure on costs. Teaching is one of many public sector areas that will be affected.

Automation is a better word than robots. That said, it will be the robots that do for Trump at his next election as they've got his supporters' jobs, not Mexicans

I learnt to pass my driving theory test via a DVD - technically a robot, there isn't much that wont be replaced by Robots.

Automation is only going to get cheaper.

Interesting article about farming. They are focusing on the Green aspect but I think this is more about making it efficient.

Energy costs are a big factor but I think they will resolve that in time.

Automation is impacting every aspect of the economy.
