It is an interesting subject. In finance people have been discussing this for some time but as yet the take up is small. The problem being is the age of the decision makers. They are all, a bit like myself c 50 and thinking I have another decade or so left. So let’s put this off and let the next generation deal with it. So the take up will be a lot slower than people think. Blockchain is a job stealer.

If you accept that automation will take a lot of jobs, then it will also create a heavy deflationary pressure on those that remain. Your obsolete fund manager will retrain as a plasterer. 2 plasterers competing for 1 job=lower price for smoothed walls. Just because jobs are immune from automation, doesn't mean they're immune from the effects of automation.

It's not a bad thing if its replacement improves more lives. Capitalism is only worth keeping if it's the best system we have. If automation improves things for the the west then great....but the potential effects are worrying elsewhere.
