He could perform a similar role to Wickham.

You mean he's got a similar injury record!?

If he is free of injury then a very good player. I would prefer other less fragile options - but this has got the “Roy knows the player well” cautious signing written all over it. I reckon this will happen. Just hope we get some back up in!

How does this help the ageing squad with expensive wages ?

29 years old
Injury prone
Demands over 100K a week

Absolute No.

Watford made the mistake, they can live with it.

Not what we need.

A lot of people on these boards said the same thing about McCarthy (2 years injured) before he signed yet he played 33 games this season.

My only question would be: would a fit Danny Welbeck score more goals than Benteke and Wickham?

I am not a bot. No, seriously, I'm not.

I admit. It's true. It's possible to rise above expectations.

Perhaps, but would he be any better than Pierrick or even Taylor from Charlton? He would be more wages and not any better, in my opinion. He was sh1t at Watford and didn't even play much. Deeney a hundred times better, which is a little embarrassing for him.
I am not enamoured by this rumour, nor, I suspect is anyone else except Welbeck's agent.

I agree, I think this is mostly click bait.

Just pointing out that referring to a previous injury is not a good argument.

He was injured a lot but did look much better than Deeney when he was fit.

Mind you Deeney was playing on one knee ..
