We should sign up the UN Migration pact, it's because we don't have such policy that it creates the Calais situation

Bert is spot on, we have caused untold unrest in the middle east and this is the result. We have a duty to sort out the problem we created

Frankly, I would tow the boats back to the French coast and once they are in shallow water shoot the inflatable out from under them.

Would soon deter the rest.

I’d be interested to read your list of ‘untold unrest’ that we (I assume you mean the United Kingdom) have caused in the Middle East, and then why you think that us allowing migrant Iranians to settle here will be a remedy for those ills.

saddened to see such xenophobia and Daily Express-like language on here. But then again, given the anti-black and antisemitic abuse I hear regularly at Selhurst, why am I even surprised?

I don't see my comment as xenophobic. Look at the demographic of these people - all young(ish) fit healthy males, just like any other invading army, which is exactly what I see them as. These are not refugees or asylum seekers, and many of them are coming from countries that are not war zones or places of unrest. And just like any other invading army they need to be repelled.

Weird, I go to palace regularly and have never ever heard any racist abuse and I recon I speak for a lot of people.

Also Could you please quote the language in this thread that is xenophobic.

Anti black abuse dished out at Selhurst when 8 out of 11 of our preferred first team are black?

I find that quite incomprehensible

Chelsea have and have had many black players, but that didn't stop those top lads abusing Sterling. Having black players in your team, players who have been developed or bought for their footballing talent/price/commitment etc. does not mean your fanbase (which is very hard to contain or even analyze properly) will NOT be, here and there, racist.

So an invading army with no guns, no uniforms, starving troops, no discernible objective, and an army that is literally surrending, and an army that is risking not even making it to the 'enemy' shore because of weather and other factors. Some army. I think you're a bit too embroiled in the Breitbart/Daily Mail type slang of 'army', 'invasion'. If this is an invasion, what would the Russian army be? Everything in moderation, dear chap, especially at this time of year.

As for young fit men - last time I checked, young fit men want to live free and not starve as well, not just old crippled women.
