I think it was the other way round. Swindle scored with the scissor kick in the first half ( I have since seen a photo of this) and Cannon hit a cross ball on the volley in the 2nd half.

You're right - and there is an iconic photo of Swindles scoring that goal.

I went to an event at Palace earlier on this year with DS and Jim Cannon talking about their careers.

Had a chat with Dave afterwards, very nice guy.

As a player, good physical presence and always gave his all.

I saw Swindlehurst a few years back and I noticed his pate was not as hirsute as it once was.
His step-son plays in non-league football as a central defender.

I once saw him filling his Ford Capri up at a garage in West Wickham around 1976. I was watching on from outside of my Hillman Imp which I had foolishly locked myself out of.

I'm not sure what relevance my story has apart from it involving the aforementioned Swindle.

Are you sure it wasn't Mick Hill, they looked quite similar?

Excellent player, always gave 100%, decent finisher. Scored many important goals, notably Burnley, promotion night May 1979, the winner in the iconic 1-0 FA cup 4th round win at dirty Leeds in January 1976 & any number against our friends on the south coast under manager Mr Muppetry at the beginning of the aggro with them.

I loved him, but then I loved them all back then, well apart from Terry Fenwick!!
I especially loved him when he got us tickets, his GP was my mates grandad and a few of my early games were down to tickets Swindles gave him, including the notorious Boxing Day game v the weed in 79. We had to meet him as he got off the team coach with murder and mayhem going on all around

I believe the last time I set eyes on Terry Fenwick was in 'Sullivans', Southborough Lane, Bickley back in the late 70s/early 80s.

I ended up as his postman, he lived off sundridge avenue in Bromley, and of all my palace hero’s, I couldn’t believe my luck when I see a sponsored car on the front of this house with ‘Terence William Fenwick Queens Park Rangers and England’ written on the side, the one player i didn’t like!
