With yellow cards being brandished for any innocuous contact has the time come to their value to be reduced proportionately?

3 yellows for a red would make it more difficult for referees/VAR etc. to ruin our enjoyment of the game.

We don't watch a football match to see people giving their marching orders for being naughty, it is ruining the contest.

A ref would still be able to give a straight red for a malicious contact etc.

Rather than that, a wholesale change of referees would be my preferred course of action!

No.
there is nothing wrong with the 2 yellows=red rule. but same as VAR, yellows need to be Brandished correctly.

not completly against introduction of a different coloured card or even sin bins though.

I think sin bins more for me with reds only for malicious/dangerous fouls or play.

10 minutes sin bin for first offence, 20 minutes for second. It would change the game in that players would be far more careful with challenges and could hopefully remove the cynical foul which is one of Man City’s and Liverpool’s biggest weapons when playing counter attacking teams.

A red should always be there for serious foul play. But a ten minute sin bin would be a good addition to refereeing choices , when dishing out yellow cards.
Above and beyond any changes of this sort in this area, the standard of refereeing is just not good enough across the board in the Premier right now. If the standards set for Bentekes, sending off were to be repeated. In every game every week . Football games would never end with everyone on the pitch. As a game never goes by without the sort of challenges that got him sent off.

That’s a better way, particularly for technical things like time wasting or kicking the ball away. They could have a different card if it made them feel better.

A white one with a big red NO on it

Or give the ref a bell to ring to go with his whistle. Or a big rocket he could fire in the air.

Given the standard of refereeing at the moment, I know where I would prefer the rocket to be fired

Don’t disagree but won’t stop inconsistency, and certain bias towards some teams

Hi 'Spider' i agree with your perception of inconsistency, but, we are dealing with human beings, everyones view is different, hence the phrase "IF IN THE REFEREES OPINION". If you feel that refs should ALL give the same decision for every foul etc, then they would become automatons & the game would become boring with no media/fans disscusions & rants. VAR & other tech stuff would take over, money & fans lost, the game would die a death.

Just my opinion & take on things.

Ooo & btw, HOL, wouldnt be needed or the fun of logging on after a game.

Good afternoon I agree with what you are saying but what I tried to convey was, the possibility of refs putting players of teams, playing against the “big”teams, in the sin bin to give them a numerical advantage during the game. Hope this makes sense!
