Watching West Brom last night I was reminded of the American Constitution, which prohibits "cruel and unusual punishment". I felt almost embarrassed watching it. If Sam can save this lot he really is a genius.

I see Big Sam is calling for all games to be postponed I presume so he can have time to work with the players and get some new ones in.

It certainly makes us losing 0-7 to Liverpool less embarrassing.
If they could just take the parachute money now and give up it might be a better option. We all get 3 points and a week off.

I heard a Brighton supporter say that under Potter they were going places.

Barnsley, Luton, Wycombe......

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Brighton's home form in the PL has been abject.
No wins in 8 games and only scored 7 goals.

One win all calendar year !!

Seemed to blame lack of fans but they only scrapped a draw with Sheffield U when they were there .

I'll reserve my comment on this statement until AFTER we've played Sheff. U on Saturday (assuming there's not going to be a PL 'circuit breaker' for COVID before then).

The problem for me isn’t using stats and models, using stats should be an important part of understanding performance and recruitment, it is using them either as a goal themselves or to ape big teams . The problem with Brighton is they seem to have made possession the goal las if they had the world class players that Man city or Liverpool have available. The best teams have more possession because they have the best players that means a lot of the time teams like Palace or Burnley are quiet happy to sit back let the big team have possession and defend deep and say go on break us down , obvioulsly I’m excluding the recent match against Liverpool when we decided we could go toe to toe with Liverpool and play PVA as an outside left and got taken apart. Usually the big teams have genuinely world class players who can do the unexpected and penetrate a set defence players like Firmino , Salah, De Bruyne players who cost a fortune because they are genuinely world class one off , stats busting outliers that can not be accounted for in any statistic model, while Brighton have Trossard the lightweight Robbie Williams on meth lookalike. Arsene Wegner was a great manager who changed the face of English football partly because he bought in a statistical understanding of what should be done and the best model for winning matches , Ferguson in the long run was better because he understood that but also knew that from time to time it was also important to let Rooney or Ronaldo have their freedom .
I could paint Leonardo di Vinci by numbers it still would not make me an old master and only winning one game in calendar year at home doesn't stop a lot of Brighton supporters feeling they are in on a big analytical secret

One supporter of hacking argued that without it "you will do away with the courage and pluck of the game, and I will be bound to bring over a lot of Frenchmen who would beat you with a week's practice -Blackheath secretary at first meeting of the F.A

Yes sorry I did notice that and know how you can jinx a team!

And tbf the Blades don’t lose by much .

Trouble is they are rather than winning 1/0 as they were last season.

Even the pundits are waking up to the fact that Brighton are all fur coat and no knickers.

A Glenn Murray of 5 years ago is what they need.

£20m on Maupay was I thought a good deal at the time, but at Prem level he needs 7/8 chances to score 1.

Saying that, he scored against West Ham but was then dropped to the bench for the Arsenal game. I think Potter got that all wrong.

They have a tough 6 games ahead of them. On current form I will be surprised if he's still in charge come game 6.

Not that long ago they extended his contract from 2023 to 2025 so they clearly have faith that he can deliver on their objectives.

He has only had 1 full season in charge and this is an unusual season for obvious reasons so I don't anticipate them 'Pulling the trigger' unless they are in dire relegation trouble.

Very Newcastle / Pardewesque !

Let's see - as I posted, if the next 6 games don't yield a couple of wins then Bloom may decide to gamble on bringing someone else in.
