Absolutely, one day we will be back in the lower divisions. These times are the best hope for silverware. When you become old geezers you will want to have memories of cup runs, and even a Wembley appearance. My goodness I would love to see my team win an FA cup final.

Would love a cup run, can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t barring it affecting our ability to stay up!

Therein may lie some people's doubts - perhaps cup winners Birmingham City and Wigan together with finalists, Hull remain fresh in memories. As for me - yes, it would be good to have another good cup run. After all, we've had a final and QF during our current PL tenure, and we have a strong enough squad to progress on both fronts.

Yes, I want us to win the FA Cup.

It would be the greatest Crystal Palace season I've ever experienced.

I can't believe it is even up for debate.

I absolutely want a cup run and to show some ambition.

Portsmouth and Wigan supporters would not swap the FA Cup win for a place in the premiership. Sport is about achievement, not accountancy.

Given the poor performance at the end of last season and fixture congestion at the start of this season I was not too fussed about the League Cup this year.

With a decent points total, let's make sure we make a decent fist of it against Wolves.

If we get to the next round, let's reevaluate how much effort we put into it based on the league position, players available, and oposition.

Pardew had us safe in the league for the second half of 2016 and was right to concentrate on the Cup, knocking several Premiership sides out. People don't give the Cup results enough weight when analysing his last 12 months in charge. I loved the Cup Final, even if I was heartbroken at the end.

With the top 10 being incredibly tight, and a little bit of daylight between us, wolves and Brighton/Fulham, this season could be a fantastic opportunity.

Plus, if we are looking for a new manager come the end of the season it will be a great advert for the club.

Although I know when the wolves game comes around, whatever team we put out, I’ll want us to win. But it’s tough, because I know if we get to Wembley, some hope I know with our recent cup form, I’ll be gutted if I can’t go because of covid, or worse, again some hope, if we did actually go on to win the thing, after 45 years of having that dream, I won’t be there to see it.
It’s okay for these fans groups that have popped up around the world watching the games in a pub in Chicago or Colorado etc, they’re used to not going to games, but for the proper supporters, it’ll be a right choker if we can’t be there. So i think I’d rather it not be an issue and do our usual and throw the towel in early.

I’m with you all the way monkey.
I don’t even have my season ticket this year.
I hate how it is and a cup run would not be good.
Imagine Palace at Wembley and not being able ti go.
No way.

Why not have a cup run. Benefits are more game time for developing players (and those who need support of their ), and the potential - provided we win - of for European Football. Others will confirm if European Football is available to losing finalists (if Cup Winning Team is already qualified for Europe.

I don't think I do. Because of the late start to the season we are going to have to fit in more games than usual up until the end of the season. A cup run would just congest things even more with the attendant risk of more injuries.

We should go for it and play our strongest possible team. We don’t have European matches to worry about so 1 additional game every few weeks is hardly going to tax our supposedly super fit sportsmen is it?

Agree with this!

Wolves usually field a good team for the cup, but are walking wounded right now, so it's a chance to get beyond them. After that the fixtures are super congested for the big clubs with European fixtures, so they'll be fielding B teams.

This could be our year (from a proper supporter who watches most of the games in pubs in NY - although these days it's only in front of my TV).

Yes, might as well win something this year. We should be ok in the league, who wants that europa crap anyway? That is a sure way to get relegated next season, and we won"t get that anyway, but chuck everything at the fa cup, rotate squad, win it against utd or chels, and retain it next season with us all there, simples!
