Extradition denied, it's being reported...

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Good, not a fan, but this would have set a precedent.

Good. They didn't let us have the diplomats wife who killed Harry Dunne. Works both ways.

Come on Trump pardon him.

Why agree to extradition to the USA in the first place.

It is a one-way ticket, they do not reciprocate.

Glad to see this. Signals we won't roll over for the incoming administration. Echo comments also on Dunn.

On Assange himself: I think he's a bit of a creep, but this whole episode is a disgrace to justice. Trumped up charges in Sweden just to then get him extradited to the US.

He's opened our eyes to the deep state and the threat to our personal liberties. Governments should be afraid of the people, not vice-versa.

Just been offered political asylum in Mexico according to some news outlets. If true that would mightily piss off the US.

Could do a lot worse than Cancun, my favourite beach holiday destination.

Hardly representative of Mexico, though.

I have mixed feelings about him, as like many marginalised figures he ends up being used by other equally repellent forces, curating releases and becoming politicised.

Fundamentally though, it's more immoral than not to hide videos like 'Collateral Murder', and I have my doubts about those Swedish sexual assault charges too. It's all been geared at getting him to the US, so I'm pleased he's still fighting his corner. He certainly possesses a degree of bravery.
