Well we can now add 'Can't take a throw-in' to Can't pass, can't cross, can't control the ball and can't shoot.
I'm getting used to being embarrassed to be Palace.

Never be embarrassed mate.
I never will as we all bleed red and blue.

My goodness, your first game was before I was born ! I came into the world in 1952.

As my dear wife and daughter keep saying "It's only a game of football" which is normally followed by my robust response!
Perhaps I should have the good sense to take their and your advice instead of working myself into a lather and venting my spleen.

I was feeling for your good lady and daughter until
...its only a game!
Clearly re education required in your home willo

It works! My wife disappears to another room when Palace are playing, she knows how things are going by my language. Usually at half-time I am met with “ not going well then?” Many years since she uttered “ it’s only a game”

I’ve been following Palace since 1958 and for as far back as I can remember we’ve been c**p at throw ins.
I’ve often wondered at other mighty teams like scunthorpe, Walsall and the like how they somehow manage gain some advantage from a throw.
We on the other hand look absolutely clueless.
Always been the same.

In yesteryear, Bobby Woodruff was renowned for his long throw.
I recall the chants of "Bobby,Bobby" when we were awarded a throw-in not too far removed from the opposition penalty area.
He must be in his 80s now.

Kenny Sansom had a pretty good throw as well.

In The days of Bert Head we had a long throw specialist Bobby Woodruff who could put the ball on the penalty spot.
We dont see anybody with this technique anymore

Didnt Andy Gray have a long throw as well as a thunderous shot & was damm good with a free-kick?
