Technically I could claim myself as one so you've already covered that with your initial insult which, I am guessing, was a response to seeing some truth in my statement. It was deliberately provocative and I believe there is a lot of truth in it however I'd hoped for a better challenge if there were to be one.

With regards to my follow up comment, I probably should have known that there is no banter in HR these days but it was worth a shot.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

There was no truth in your comment.

Black Lives Matter is basically a hash tag. Nobody owns it. Some organisations have set up using the words but they don't necessarily speak for the majority who use the tag.

I attended the BLM meeting in Park Hill. The overwhelming message was that the best way for the various people that support BLM to have their say is to study hard, get into positions of authority and change the system from within. Also to support other minority groups and not to fight with them.

It was very clearly stated that aggression is not a tactic to use and that violence is despised.

Now, you go ahead and say that 'BLM', like Antifa, is some kind of anarchist group that sets out to spoil society and is always under the bed. I suppose that is your right and I assume you have bought a large mirror for checking each night. But like so much on this site it isn't based on anything near an objective viewpoint.

I suggest you attend a rally when they can get going again and listen to the viewpoints. And enjoy the atmosphere which was, in my opinion, highly welcoming and inclusive. They even gave us free masks and water.

Come now Maple. I'm sure the Nazi Party started out sounding all nice.

You've completely misunderstood the reasoning and motivation behind my post to the extent that your points are irrelevant to what I had originally intended to be a provocation of thought and/or discussion.

Well it’s a damn shame there is a large number who don’t think like that. People wouldn’t be afraid to go out in Croydon in the evening if they were all of the happy clappy variety.

Well then I am sorry I am not a mind reader and did not work out the deep and meaningful intentions from one line that read:

Black lives do not matter to Black Lives Matter

My retort was that all lives matter to those people I have heard speak. However the rationale behind BLM is to raise awareness of differential treatment still suffered by minority groups within society. They also, for example, mentioned those in Hong Kong trying to maintain their rights.#

Perhaps you were trying to say they should patrol the streets to stop black on black crime.

Is that why you left the country then?

Can't say that my children, my wife or I are fearful to go into Croydon of an evening. It's pretty easy to get a tram or bus.

BLM have been focused on their distorted claims about White racism. If they cared about Black lives, they would concentrate on doing something about the people who kill 99% of Black people. Other Black people.

Deep breath,

Your initial retort was an insult, but your last one regarding patrolling the streets would not be the solution but certainly a start. What I was attempting to suggest is sort of what you have touched on in your largest paragraph regarding the 'rationale of BLM'.

I was suggesting an irony that the whole movement gained traction, and is actually called 'Black Lives Matter' from the death of one black man, in the US of A, at the hands of a US police officer yet we are continuing to see the tragic and shocking murder of Black people in the UK, a good proportion of whom are children, by other Black people, on a near daily basis. This strangely however seems to escape the attention of the movement 'Black Lives Matter', the media and the so called left.

I would also suggest that a key obstacle behind your suggested 'rationale' is influencing and changing the mindsets of 'White People'. Now, as a wild guess, I would suggest a lot of 'White People' are continually quite shocked, appalled and angry about a lot of Black subculture which has led to pandemics of murder and crime on UK streets. Another proportion of people however, which you may include yourself in, bizarrely believe that this subculture is something to be ignored or even enjoyed.

The fact the 'Black Lives Matter' movement has failed in some people's eyes to address this has, quite rightly, led to a lot of people not giving it the time of day. It might also occur to some people that your proposed 'rationale' behind this movement would have to be questioned as the 'rationale' would almost certainly not be the primary concern of any sentiment that really believes that 'Black Lives Matter' and therefore this 'rationale' must have alternative motives; especially as it assumes a victim mentality and ironically, given the obstacle I've highlighted, points a finger at the very people it is trying to influence. The problem is again, addressing this issue is avoided at all cost which of course once more arouses suspicion about a 'Black Lives Matter' movement. The nail in the coffin of all of this is of course the bandwagon jumping, ideology chasing, narcissistic, 'I attended a rally' White liberals who for whatever reason want to endorse something which by virtue of lacking any reflection of reality will never achieve the laughable morality it claims to espouse.

Here's a good video which is admittedly a bit too self-congratulatory in it's editing but does feature Thomas Sowell, a man I have highly respected for a while now and I would expect most to listen to a bit more intently than they would do to me - [Link]

I'll add a nice quote from it below here too:

"Those kinds of people who have those kind of attitudes that are called liberal... the word is misused. Those people have created an atmosphere in which these counterproductive cultures are to be celebrated, perpetuated and the consequences overlooked. It reminds me of a scene in the Blue Max where this general is encouraging this daredevil pilot to do all kinds of wild stunts knowing that the guy is gonna kill himself if he keeps doing this and therefore the general will be rid of a political problem. Now, I don't think the white liberals are doing this deliberately but the net results are the same. They are cheering blacks on in doing things that are absolutely self destructive"
