Why would they get points deduction?

This will be a seperate league for European Elite clubs in a totally seperate league of their own. So, IF, this happens( ) will Sky/BT & other ' stakeholders' continue to pump stupid money into the EPL etc etc.

The other Euopean leagues dont enjoy the financial input even the EFL gets. Manure have the largest GLOBAL income/influence in this country, financially it makes perfect sense.

I would imagine clubs contracts with the Premier League have a start date and an end date & probably some kind of notice period by which either party can decide to part ways.

It might be made more interesting if the Premier League drew up the wording of the contracts believing that they would always be the main party & the clubs being the ones clamouring to sign the contract(s) to be part of that exclusive group the Premier League - well if that dynamic changed & there is a new paymaster in town, it might well mean that there will be a lot of people who have been reading those contracts really closely to see exactly what their commitments are & what penalties exist for breaking those clauses .

I hope so too man. It's completely a piss take to the rest of the leagues here and in the other countries.

This comes as no real surprise. And for all the opposition being expressed by various bodies in football, including the Premier league. It’s a situation that they themselves have encouraged, and financed even. It is them that have encouraged the formation of clubs built on the greed that major investors invariably have. And it’s this encouragement to control the game through unchallenged wealth that is behind the attempts now to grab even more from the beautiful game.

But a European Super League is only an extension of the greed that already sets the agenda for football in this country. The Premiership is depressingly predictable anyway, in that of the six English teams that are reputed to be keen on the break-away, only two teams stood a chance of winning the title this year. Next season it's difficult to see Arsenal or Spurs winning the title. Chelsea or Man Utd might get closer than they have this, but it's merely a 'competition' between the super rich. The only question would be how long these top English clubs warranted a place in the new order of things. West Ham might have a view about whether Arsenal, for example, deserved it more.
But, hilariously, a League comprised of the richest twenty clubs in Europe wouldn't be truly 'European'. How many Portuguese clubs (Wolves excepted) would qualify? Then someone will point out that England is no longer part of Europe anyway.
But, yes, I'd happily watch a competition that would surely be a leveller playing field than it ever can be with the domination of the super-rich. Time to give the game back to the fans who come through the turnstiles rather than those who view only through Sky Sports.
