I went to all three Cup home games that season. I was only 10 at the time, but remember the elation at beating Forest. We played really well that day, and I have since seen some really grainy footage, but can’t remember where. Happy Days

Went to the Forest and Leeds game as a 10 year lad. I remember queuing for tickets for the Leeds game with my dad, the queue went the entire length of Holmesdale Road and round the corner.

Went to all the games in the cup run.

Bury, I think was captained by a young Colin Bell.
They were 3rd Div, I think and seem to remember we won 5-0

Southampton away. I was 15 and it was my first away game Went on a club coach with my younger brother. Went on our own as dad wasn't interested in football.
I seem to remember that match was in danger of being postponed as it clashed with Winston Churchill's funeral.
It went ahead on same day as funeral [ I think ].
I think we scored 2 early goals and won 2-1

As posters say, Forest was the best game. Place was rocking. Won 3-1. Peter Burridge was brilliant and me and my brother were pictured at front of Holmesdale crowd in following week's Advertiser. Still have picture somwhere.

Brother and I queued for a few hours for our Leeds tickets. The ticket selling ,I think, was on a weekday and I assume it was school holidays as mum would never have allowed us to bunk off.

Leeds game was postponed on the saturday, mainly because Holmesdale terraces were deemed unsafe with the snow and ice.

4 days later in the evening, Leeds were too good for us, although we didn't play at our best. Beaten 3-0
I was gutted and [ nearly ] cried ...as after Forest, I thought it was "our year " If only we had played as we did against Forest.

As well as Colin Bell, I think Ernie Yard was also playing for Bury. We signed him a few months later.

I seem to remember in the Bury game Cliff Holton missing a penalty at the Whitehorse Lane end when it was nil nil and Chris Harker the Bury keeper taking the Mick and patting him on the back. I think Holton scored a hat-trick after that.
The Forest game was played with snow piled up round the pitch and was unbelievable to a young 11 year old in only his second season. We had actually beaten the team 3rd in the First Division.
The Leeds defeat brought us back down to reality.

I was at the Forest and Leeds games and still have the tickets from both (with a bit of luck, photo attached). There was a bit of a crush as we left the Whitehorse Lane end after the Forest game as I think the gate had only been half opened, I was swept along with both feet off the ground for a while - my first experience of a big crowd and a bit scary at the time.
