If you consider our current centre midfielders, he's probably around the same ability as what we have. The basic point being that our midfield us so crap that a journalist believed this. I have an idea for one that they might pick up on - let's test the theory.

In the past we have always got rid of skilful midfielders who can pass the ball accurately (thinking Ben Watson and Yohan Cabaye) - and we have paid the price in lack of goals.

Bannan always had an eye for a pass and release it accurately. Our present contingent just seem to get rid of it because they don't have the skill to hold up the ball.

Many consider our lack of goals is down to our strikers or wingers not crossing but it's lack of a playmaker in midfield.
