Of all the Palace players I've seen that I'd want to transplant into today's team, it's impossible to look past Ian Wright. Speed, strength, skill, imagination and flair, plus of course goals. On top of all this, his mindset would inspire, shake, drag, draw or frighten performance levels out of his teammates they didn't know they were capable of.

Ashley Cole, his positional play and speed was almost like having an extra defender. Or Peter Taylor a class act.

My immediate gut reaction is what I'd stick with, Andy Johnson. As previous poster said, to get 20+ goals on a relegated side is madness. His pace, attacking drive at goal was second to none and with the rule changes being as they are I reckon he could end up with 15+ goals from the spot alone. Absolutely loved watching him play, goal machine.

Havent seen any mention of Peter Simpson - 0.85 goals per game return, double Wrighty's record - can you imagine a return like that from a palace striker now? It's up there with Lewandowski. He is an under-rated player from the past. Also, would take big Nige or Speroni. Guaita is too inconsistent.
