Apparently, Priti is thinking of setting up a wind farm in the Dover strait for exactly that reason!

These people are one off the reason taxes will rise, as they will live on income supplied by the government.

Perhaps get boris and his cabinet to pay back the £14 billion PPE money that "disappeared" to the Cotswolds and off shore, bring a New Scotland Yard proceeds of crime team along for a chat, it wouldn"t be tory tax rises we got, it would be tax cuts!

Non-EU immigration into the UK has boomed exponentially since the brexit 'deal' with the UK was signed 20 months ago. Those making their way know that they won't/can't be sent back to France as now the UK isn't part of the EU and any laws that used to facilitate that as an EU member don't apply as a 3rd country, hence the exponential increase since January 2020. The Channel has effectively become a one way non-return valve.

So the millions of pounds we are still giving the French to stop this, is going where?
Why are the French not sending them back to the previous EU countries they have travelled from?
West Africans, North Afiricans, East Africans, Bangladeshi, Albanians etc must all have travelled through at least 2 EU Countries. These nationalities are a fact, as my wife travels to the coast 2-3 times a week to process them This is not a Brexit problem ( I know you want it to be), this has been going on for years, don’t believe that 3rd country removals have always been easy…fact, I dealt with this on numerous occasions.

Try Calais, the sale of these should be the first thing stopped, unless, of course, the French have no intention of stopping it

The French police seem an impotent force. Are these gangs and crowds of immigrants so difficult to spot along the French coast?

What good are these people (mostly men as PalazioVecchio once said) to us and what actually happens to them? Some get deported, but the numbers are rarely published. I really fear that there are Taliban plotters amongst them primed to wreak havoc here.

I thought we were going to get tough on immigration post Brexit. Not happened yet.

Yes, all mainly males that only serve to drain our system, they add no value what so ever.

What happens to them? Welcomed with open arms it would appear by our government, along with being ushered onto air conditioned coaches and put into hotels.
Little wonder they choose to come here, we make it so comfortable for them.

If you are fleeing for your life why bypass all those countries that they cross?

Priti Patel has done nothing to halt this and it makes my blood boil to see how easy it is for them to just jump in a dingy and arrive here.

Why should the French stop them, Its the UKs fault they have made the UK, the land of milk and honey, they are not trying to get to the UK, for the Weather its for the handouts, in Spain where i live you get nothing back when you've put nothing in, they either get sent back to Morocco or Senegal if they have papers, if not the get sent to Madrid and make there way up through France to get to the UK, if you are a genuine refugee you have to stop and claim asylum in the first country you arrive in, which isn't the UK

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

i like the Spanish welfare system. Scroungers not welcome.

you pay for scroungers and you get a country full of little else. visit Ireland or Sweden if you do not believe me.

Presumably as soon as these people discover they’ve entered a country where footballers receive offensive. tweets they’ll be lining up to return to the safe haven of the EU with all the enormous benefits which they haven’t noticed whilst travelling through several member states.

The border on the french side is guarded by us. Technically we are allowing it

This is true! And the answer is, it"s great business to "miss" the hundreds/thousand slipping through the net, and make no mistake, we would do exactly the same if we were in their position. Hold on to thousands of poor people who need accomodation and food -at least until they can get a job if they want to, or let them slip off in to the night towards one of your least popular neighbours? If any country was rewarded with mega $$$$$$$$$ for keeping asylum seekers, they wouldn"t let any escape- but until that day comes, it"s "bon voyage" asylum seeker , have a good life in gb, and tres bien for the beret wearers!

Is probably the right answer but we are giving the French £ms to stop them
