Loved the club and saved us at a critical time.

Did all he could with him limited resources.

Was noble in standing up against some of the football madness.

Made some mistakes.

Decent pundit, talks a lot of sense.

But he is pretty annoying, can imagine him being insufferable to work with

Did his best. Liked his stance on agents. Not sure if he is still a fan though. He is exceptional on the radio though. Very clear and concise and tells it as it is.

Or live with. I reckon his missus plays lot of golf.

It's all been said really. Did a lot of good for our club and I particularly admired his tough stance with agents. He, unfortunately, lacked the financial support and/or the business acumen to take us further.

Speaks a lot of sense about football generally and I like to think he still has a soft spot for Palace. Didn't he use to live in a suite at the Grosvenor House Hotel? Always thought that was cool.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

It all started really with Noades selling the club (but not the ground) to Goldberg for a large amount which probably busted him. The separation of club and ground was the cause of the club having financial problems for so long. Noades probably had reason to do what he did but. . . Fast forward to Jordan and he did have some good ideas some with the club and some from outside. Jordan then bought the ground back (no semantics please) and other people got involved (some still involved). The real problem was Neil Alexand
er who while being paid and ostensibly working for Jordan was also giving information to our current owners (well most of them).

As far as Jordan goes I probably wouldn't trust him too much but he was and is a big Palace fan which is what I would want from a chairman (that and lots of money and good acumen).

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

You mean Phil Alexander aka Teflon Phil the supposed Chief Executive Officer under quite a few owners including Simon Jordan and who was allegedly feeding confidential financial information to Parish whilst still in Jordan's employ.

Interesting character, glad he no longer has any involvement in running the club.

Perfect hairstyle for radio.

I like him mostly, loves Palace and tried his best for us weather he failed or succeeded I commend him for that, I just think he acts way to salty towards Parish, like it didn't go your way Simon get over it and stop having little niggles at SP every now and then. Other then that nothing against the bloke.

What are your views of him? Your views of him during his spell at the club? I know he famously said that he will not return back to Selhurst Park (watch a game) because he felt the current owners or owner stole Palace from him.

I think the guy does talk a lot of sense definitely the best person on Talksport. But if he was still here I cannot see how Palace would be an established EPL side as they are now.

He did his best, he's obviously learnt a lot since then.... I like the bloke.

I feel that if he had the investment today, would fit in better with the likes of Textor.

I have a couple of stories about SJ. And also his thwat of a brother Dominic.
I think he is full of confidence in certain situations, but doesn't make real friends easily.

The Pocket Phone Shop was where SJ sailed close to the wind as far as tying people into long-term phone contracts. He jumped ship at the right time, and into Palace.
Found severely lacking in 'people skills', along with DJ (hanging around SJ like a bad smell). SJ plshed off a lot of workers, from programme sellers, to stewards, to suppliers and other football club owners.
Thought he was invincible.
SP came and took his toys for tuppence, because SJ didn't know how to treat people.
