For anyone looking for a live football fix this Saturday:

Tooting & Mitcham v South Park @ 3.00pm

Pitch side bar and Palace season ticket holders can get in for £6. Book in advance and it's only £5!! (hit the concession button - and bring your season ticket to the game).

Come and support one of your local clubs for a friendly welcome and a cheap (relatively) beer.

Whichever match you go to watch this weekend rest assured your support is hugely valued by these local community clubs.

Only 3500 tickets remaining for the Tooting & Mitcham United v South Park game.

Don't delay - avoid disappointment and click the link in the initial post above!!!!

Seriusly though. It is weekends like the one coming up that help make or break some clubs. An extra 50-100 on the gate when your average attendance is 150-200 can be quite a boost.

Apart from that, it is an opportunity to show supporters of Premiership teams that there is life and quality in the lower divisions. A warm welcome and a pint (consumed on the terrace while watching the match) is guaranteed.

If you've got the time take in a game at your local club. I'd prefer it if it were Tooting & Mitcham but a trip to Bromley, Croydon, Chipstead and numerous others would be £5-£10 well spent.

I think the premier league could be the reason clubs have better attendances. The bug is hard to get out of the system.
Maybe it is a way of filtering down the finance in a strange way.
Whichever I hope everyone enjoys their fix

Boston Utd versus Chester for me on Saturday

Looking for back 2 back Home wins following the appointment of our new manager.

(So much nicer with no VAR to ruin the game )

Haha - no VAR but plenty of controversial refereeing mistakes. As you know, the referee is never right!!

I've been doing non-league for a fair few seasons now.

Transport generally makes the journey a lot shorter, cheaper and easier.
No queue at the turnstiles
Entrance for adults generally under £10
Beer under £5 a pint, served in a plastic cup to drink in the stands.
Sit/stand where you want. sing with the fans. chat to home and away supporters
Home in plenty of time for tea.

Food: no queues, decent food, fair prices

Players that play for the love and their footballing prospects,...and not the money.

No prima donnas or play-acting
No VAR.

Good on yer FH! These non-league games can be both competitive and entertaining, even if the standard of play isn't first rate.

When I was working my employer 'sponsored' Tunbridge Wells FC and I was the designated contact for the club. I spent many a Saturday enjoying the game and their good company, mainly because their manager was a hardened Palace fan.

They showed their appreciation for our support by giving me a couple of tickets for the 1990 Cup Final. I am forever grateful.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
