Is Jean Phillip Mateta the new Dave Swindlehurst?

I followed Swindle's Palace career from beginning to end. In his early days he didn't look that promising. I do remember reading some programme notes written by Big Mal when he said that DS just needed to play with more confidence, and, indeed, that happened and he turned into a useful striker.

As for Mateta, I don't think he lacks confidence, but seems to me his performances are a bit hit and miss. One moment I think he looks good and then a bit hapless. He seems to be very much in favour with Viera but I can't help wondering if in the long run we'd be getting a better return from Edouard if he was given the same game time as JPM.

Flanagan and Allen an upgrade on Walsh and Swindlehurst?

Think we would have been better off with the later
