You have to question the timing of this decision to sack Dyche. At this stage of the season it's highly unlikely that a replacement will be able to turn things around at Burnley.

Poor management of the club reflects the measly budget Dyche had available to him.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

If their board have funds to back a rebuild in the summer then they too could enjoy success like we've had with Vieira. The thing is, I don't see them replacing their ageing squad with players of the quality of Guehi, Olise, Andersen, or even Hughes. The new owners have not shown any signs of being willing to invest their own money and Burnley's squad has very little value, with McNeil, Cornet and Pope the only players likely to see significant interest, while Tarkowski's contract expires this summer and Ben Mee is getting long in the tooth. You look at what's left and you wouldn't bet against them dropping again to league one if they get relegated.

I can totally understand Burnley fans who have become tired with the team's pragmatic approach as many of us did with Hodgson, but I'm just not convinced they are in a strong position to change. I would be surprised if BFS is interested unless he needs money for a holiday as this is a suicide mission really. Burnley fans seem to want Rooney, which I agree would be a great appointment, but would he really want to go there? Seems unlikely.

Where next for Sean.

He has done an excellent job at Burnley.

I agree very bad timing.

What / who do Burnley expect? All they will get is someone whose been sacked by someone else, like Bielsa, or someone old like BFS.

I would have thought he was like Obi Wan Kenobi - their only hope.

Panic does strange things to people, especially Club Chairman ! Sean Dyche is a very good manager who had no cash to play with.

I just think he was the only one who had a chance to keep them up. I can't see anyone do better, I suspect much, much worse to be honest.
As others have said, can only imagine he's pissed someone off.

Big Sam and Pardew are bookies favourites to replace him.

Hasn’t Pardew just been appointed interim manager at CSKA Sofia? Better looking women there than in Burnley

They've run out of managers who have never been there.
