Everyone wants to stop the illegals. It’s doing it in a way which doesn’t conflict with our international treaty obligations and without risking the consequences of doing so which is the difficulty.

Although it produces the biggest headlines illegal immigration is only a relatively small part of the whole though.

Unless you want to stop families being together by stopping the family route, denying universities vital income from overseas students and our industries, especially the health and social care sector, from being staffed you simply cannot limit the numbers in the way you seek. It’s not possible.

Denying any British citizen their right of abode on the basis of their heritage is a really bright idea. Good luck with that.

Overseas students are getting places ahead of British students who can't afford the fees. That is not serving Britain.

I don't care a hoot about people who should not be here in the first place bringing their families over. I care about the effect that current policy will have on mine in the future.

More people require more industry and health care. A vicious circle.

If you are a criminal, I don't care what your passport says.
You wouldn't say that a European born in China was Chinese. This is just another double standard nonsense.
We have a duty to British people, and being born here does not make you British by itself, other than on a piece of paper. I don't say that stealing a push bike should get you deported, but if you act against British interests by involving yourself in terrorism or organised crime then you should be booted out back to your country of origin regardless of birth location.

Where’s the evidence for your assertion that British students are missing out because of overseas ones? I have not seen any.

I am not talking about those who shouldn’t be here bringing their families over. I am talking about those who are entitled to be here. Including British citizens who have family members living elsewhere.

Criminals deserve punishment. Those here illegally need to be deported. Those here legally not.

However we fill vacancies other support services need to be provided.

People become as British as you and me the moment they swear allegiance to the Crown. That’s the law. Campaign for change if you wish but right now we all, you included, must respect it.
