There seems to be some press speculation linking us with this 22 year Bristol City striker.

We’ve had great success with Championship players who are able to handle Premiership in their stride. Anyone seen him play?

10-12 m and he might be worth a punt.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

He caught my eye in Championship TV highlights last season , looking quick and skilful, but it’s obviously difficult to judge from a few minutes here and there.
If we do get him that will be the third young Championship forward in a matter of months following the pair from Derby.
Hopefully at least one of them will come off in a significant way.
I suppose the likes of Dennis and Sarr have more experience and are better known, but they come at a hefty price.
I’m all for identifying lower league potential and have long felt it’s a market we should be exploiting.

Agree

He does look an interesting prospect. Strong and quick, and seams to bully defenders even though he's still pretty young.

Not a great scoring record, but again he is young, and contributes with assists etc.

Brutally underwhelming. His goalscoring record in the lower leagues is pathetic for a £12m fee with one year left on his contract.

At that price it'd be very poor business.

"Prospects" - This would appear to be our focus when we really need to acquire players for "Today".We could end up with a number of "Interesting prospects" in the Championship.

Didn't we just get rid of one of them for far less than £12mil?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I agree with you Willo, we've got plenty of prospects of our own. If we do bring in fresh talent, he or they need to make an immediate impact.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Agreed. I believe PV has recently said that we need more experience and I would hope that is what SP and DF are working on.

In addition to the younger members of our own 1st team squad, we have a promising U21 squad judging by performances in both pre-season and the two early PL2 games.

In reality we need to do both. Prospects and first team starters.

Unfortunately, a nailed on starting striker isn't easy to come by, or cheap

He certainly asserted that the squad is short on numbers.
He might yearn for more experience but we spent nigh on £75 Mill last season, some £25 Mill this season and in general players with experience cost more than young prospects.
