So what's the Mitchell situation? I'm presuming he's out for the next match but haven't looked it up.
I was thinking Ward on the left, Clyne on the right. Thought Ward did well on the left end of last season. Not ideal though, is it?

Yes.

I was hoping we might get LB cover in the window.

Adaramola is at Coventry and we're left short so early in the season.

I'd say this is apriority before the window shuts.

The only other considerations would have to be Schlupp or Riedewald surely? I think it was the wrong moment to determine it’s not Richards’ best position!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

He has only played 1 game for Coventry, nearly 3 weeks ago when they lost 4-1 to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup a game played at Burton Albion.
He was substituted and did not play in Coventry's next 2 games.

And unfortunately his move is looking a farce already. Zero appearances and a club in the midst of a soap opera

Ward and Clyne can both play left back…no worries

Yes, they can! But the outcome still worries me...

Even if it was a position that Richards had indicated he could get in there & do a job for us it was the wrong game / wrong opponent / wrong time in the game to be trying it out for the first time.

Just thinking aloud - Unless PV was trying to prove a point ? (i.e - the squad needs strengthening)

No. We were winning 2-1. There's no way PV would want to risk throwing that away. I'm sure he made what he thought was the right call.

Probably so - Although I was at the Oxford game on Tuesday & I couldn't see Richards making the team in a PL game based upon that performance, given the situation at the time on Saturday, for me 100% its Ward / Clyne as full backs & either Jeff Schlupp or Will Hughes slotted in to fill the gap.

Obviously its dead easy to be wise after the event -

Ward is useless going forward and not left footed. Would much rather see Schlupp at left back.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
