Burke, it is claimed, objected to this, questioned the school’s position and alleged that a belief system is being forced on students. He also claims that the school’s request amounts to a breach of constitutional rights, the High Court heard. In correspondence to Burke the school denied that anyone is being ‘forced’ to do anything. The school said that it is focusing on the needs and welfare of its students and is affirming its policy in accordance with the 2000 Equal Status Act of not discriminating against any student."

I have had several students who have asked for the same thing from me in the past. Good for them. It is of no cost to me and I have respected their request. Their young fellow students are in full support of the student's wishes too, without being forced to but because they have respected the wishes of their fellow student. Good on them. It's lovely to see them being so understanding and supportive.

And whoever threw the book at him, decided to go below the belt and nail him on a pretext....rather on just an old fashioned 'your fired cos we dont like you'' and the whole caboodle seems to have backfired spectacularly. For the record : whatever pronoun somebody wants for themselves is as personal as their taste in food or clothing. And wouldnt it be nice if we could all respect that. If any of these students were to join the tragically high proportion of those who transition only to take their own lives, would you feel at all culpable? God forbid suffice to say. 2. As an educator, do you believe in the incorrect usage of language tailored solely for the wishes of a person’s subjective opinions on what they believe they are with no scientific backing whatsoever and actually running contradictory to biological science and application of language? Furthermore do you think it correct that people are told what language they ‘must’ use based on the wishes of others? 3. This ones just for me. I have always felt far superior to most others, I believe this stems from my growing up around predominantly Millwall fans. If I were a student, and demanded to be referred to as ‘His Royal highness’ or addressed as ‘Your Royal Highness’ would you oblige? I believe my claim to royalty is as valid as John’s to be referred to as She/her. I realise this might seem very aggressive questioning but I am interested and have not ruled out my own ignorance as being a factor in my inability to process this scenario.

i like the French use of the word 'On'....which corresponds to One. The Royal One. One drives the car past One's Corgi's as One is contemplating One's legacy. i think it dilutes all the he/she/they politics. =========================================== the judge has ordered the arrest of that teacher fella......
