Oh good... Ayew is back in the starting 11... I'm sure Newcastle will be concerned about that.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

It's going to be a physical battle looking at Newcastle's line-up. Zaha has tormented Targett in the past so I expect him to start fouling him from the off. Without Guimaraes and ASM Newcastle are clearly not as strong, but they game Liverpool a good game without them, so who knows. I am slightly more confident of a result now I've seen the line-ups. I imagine Vieira is being cautious with Olise and managing his return.

My final thought is that at some point Mateta or Edouard has to make the no.9 spot their own.

You get the feeling that PV is not completely convinced by Olise. Not sure why, he is streets ahead of Ayew in all areas except defending.

Expecting a very tough afternoon. Loads-a-money versus cannon-fodder.

I think he's convinced by him but simply easing him back from injury. I expect a pretty tight and niggly game...Olise will be a decent option to bring on later as the game naturally opens up.

When Olise is fully fit however I expect him to be starting week in week out. Fantastic player.

I hope so, that is how I see him.

Yes, much maligned imo

He's more the type for a tight, physical encounter where we'll need his hold-up skills and ability to cope in a tence, niggly environment.

Agree that MO will be a good option as the game stretches, if indeed it does stretch

I think it'll be quite an ugly game. Howe usually gets his teams to foul Wilf (more than the a average side) plus a lot of tactical fouling during set plays.

Need to stay switched on and hopefully Eze can influence the game today. Fingers crossed for a strong performance.

In what way? Since the amount of contact allowed has been increased he doesn’t pick up the fouls he used to get and spends more time on his backside than anything else. He doesn’t score goals and he doesn’t create goals. He gets stuck in, but he is not really on the pitch for that. Anyway, that’s an argument for another day COYP.
