We could be in the bottom 3 tonight if Forest win, but I don’t see the panic, we’ve had a tough start and have generally played well. Obviously there’s our usual failings, conceding late and not finishing teams of when we’re on top, but we’ve got a run of games now before the World Cup break where hopefully we can get some results……if we don’t, then we can panic

Yep.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

If our preferred back four is restored by the weekend I'll be a lot more confident as I do think the likes of Olise, Eze and Zaha will be a headache for any defence. Edouard also showed if you actually put the ball in the box he can score (he doesn't do a great deal outside it). I also think Ebiowei needs to get some minutes as he looked so direct and tricky in preseason and 15 minutes at the end against tired legs could deliver results.

In terms of points I think realistically the most any of us would have expected at this stage of the season would be 9 points given who we've played, and before the season kicked off some on here were predicting we might have three or less points by this stage. Our performances, I think, probably deserve at least a couple more points. I'm certainly not panicking, but our squad is small and if the U21s/U18s don't have anyone PL ready then we might start to look very stretched if injuries keep adding up.

I'm 'fan-boying' you this morning TL!

Absolutely agree with all of that. Defence, attack, games played so far and performances.

I think a lot of us thought the transfer window was lacking. We could see the obvious gaps in the squad, especially when there are a number of players who seem to be injury prone.
Thin line between mid table security and relegation some years in this division and this year looks like it could be one of those.
Even with the difficult fixtures we have had, I look at the teams in this division and I struggle to find 3 who have weaker squads than us. We bought only one player who is likely to get significant first team time.
I think likely to be a long hard season and survival will be a success. If we do go down then the failure to strengthen the squad in the summer will be the reason.

Yes we could be in the bottom three tonight but it's
Leicester (-12 goal difference) v
Nottingham Forest (-11 goal difference).
I realise that predictions can make one look very silly but it looks like a nailed on nil - nil to me. We have simpler games to come and we won't always have Kavanagh as ref every match.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

It is the first Saturday in October!!!.
We have played 4 of last years 6 and to date we are 1 point down against the same opposition played last year.

The team are playing well, need to get points though between now and the world cup break with "easier" run of fixtures.

Yes, i agree, the team that started in midfield and attack against Chelsea is probably the best line up to win games, i think two DMs is essential against the top 4/5 teams, and also Ebiowei should get some more game time in the next 9 league games

And if my reckoning is correct on injuries, we're already down to a first eleven and a bunch of youngsters on the bench. I pray Andersen is back, or it's Richards or Tomkins. Any point in mentioning Luka and Jairo? Thought not.
